Car insurance with Saga

Hi Val
Interesting to hear of the small print in the Aviva policy, which brings it much more into line with other UK insurers.

With the Saga policy it's important to stress the need still to apply for a Green Card ahead of a trip abroad, since British insurance certificates do not meet EU standards for international travel.  Without a Green Card, French police can take the view that a British visitor is driving uninsured, with the onus being on the visitor to avoid prosecution by convincing them that they are wrong, or otherwise to prove their innocence in a French court.
