Beach invaded

One of our regular walks is on the "beach" at Laguepie. The river Viaur has a wide grassy bank, ideal for picnics and children to paddle in the river. Not ideal, then, for dog walking. During the summer we have given it a miss, but were surprised a couple of days ago to see large earth moving equipment and piles of soil everywhere. It seems that the houses along the river are having their sewage systems renewed and new sewers are being installed all along the beach. Since the village seems to have big plans for the tourist attractions next year we assume all will be relaid and grassed by next year.
