Two people recently have indicated that they were not happy with Malian leaders living the proverbial life of Riley whilst their people starve and suffer and if they do not look after their own why should we? I missed the documentary on Claridges so was in the dark.
All has been explained by talking to a reader who said they had watched a documentary on the upmarket hotel in London "Claridges" Rooms there have always been expensive but since the refurbishments are astronomical. In the documentary that will have been made a few months ago the Malian President stayed there with an entourage ( not sure of the numbers) but say 40 others, for a few days. With room costs running into thousands it does rather stagger belief..
The fact that this President has now been deposed does not help readers anxieties, as is the next one any better ? I doubt it. So what are we to do? Say "well that is it, their children can die on the street because of that". I think not, the children still need our help as much as ever and in these war torn times, even more so. Jean Marie and Winnie Nosal take no fees for their work. The money we give them goes directly to their school and hospital and they oversee the running with Jean Marie going out there many times a year at his own expense. He was last there just before Christmas, risking life and limb, or at least risking becoming a hostage.
I want you to continue supporting TAG and sending money to help these children who through no fault of their own, live without care on the streets. If we save 10 or 100 children when our lives are so blessed we can feel proud.
