ANSM drugs watchdog on trial

You know when you visit the Doctor here in France, you could leave with an ''ordonnance''  for a sackful of medicines. The culture of a tablet for everything has made for a very strong drug culture and and given an overwhelming strength to the drugs lobby. The drug and medicines watchdog ANSM has been indicted for involuntary manslaughter and involuntary wounding  over its negligence with the drug used for diabetes and slimming, Mediator. Never authorised in the UK or US, it was taken here by 5 million people from 1997 to 2009, made by laboratory Servier. The drug has been linked to heart valve problems causing deaths.
