Thanks to TAG we have had reported sightings of swallows and the hoopoe
already. We are now reliably informed that certain migratory ex pat folk
singers have also returned and will be performing once again at the
folk/jazz club on Thursday this week.
A very full program is promised with some new collaborations ( Charles
and Anna are even letting Trevor play with them!) and Charles is
recovered enough to be back to playing his fiddle.
Everyone is welcome - if you haven't been before do join us for a
convivial and relaxed evening of music and song ( if you have been
before you of course wouldn't dream of missing it!) We start promptly at
8pm at the salles de fetes in Le Riols, bring your own drinks.
The winter season at Le Riols has been a great success with a huge
variety of musicians both English and French and even some dancing and
Le Riols has proved to be a convenient location. The money for booking
the hall was raised early on in the season for a very modest entrance
fee. The last booked date in Le Riols is at the end of May and if the
club is to continue, decisions soon have to be made. Shall we stay in
Salles de fete which will need to be paid for, do we stay at Le Riols
or look for somewhere else and who's going to organize it? The original
concept was that the summer venues would be outside in peoples
courtyards but as yet we have had no offers of accomodation. Maybe we
need to come up with an alternative plan. Does anyone know of a Salle de
fetes we could use which has outside space which could be used in the
summer in good weather?
So do come along with or send in some ideas / suggestions, but most of
all do come along to enjoy the music!
