The Counseil Municipal at Albi has voted to authorise the creation of a zone " culturelle and touristique" in the centre of Albi. This zone would allow up to 500 shopkeepers to open on a Sunday.
( have they got 500 shops?) This could make a real difference to holidaymakers in the summer. I know we have been to Albi in the summer and been fed up with a number of shops being closed for "conge annuel" which sent me in to a rant being a former bookshop owner saying " take your holidays out of season, you do not deserve to make money" things along those lines. [Our shop was in a tourist area and we were open 7 days a week, as well as doing Book Fairs.]. So maybe the shopkeepers are cottoning on to visitor service at last.
