Beware bikers

The summer months are ideal for motor bike rides especially around the lanes in our beautiful countryside. But despite bikes being only 2% of the road users they account for 25% of traffic fatalities, with May, June and July being especially lethal.
TV station TMC (Tele Monte Carlo) decided to film an enquiry into this and asked a motard to demonstrate his skills. This included a wheelie at over 200kmh on the A6 motorway. Film also showed bikes weaving between cars and lorries, but not apparently the responsible motards enjoying the open roads.
The "star" biker was recognised by police after the programme was aired and prosecuted for endangering others. He was fined 2000 euros, banned for 6 months and jailed for 4 months. He is able, however, to take part in August's wheelie world championships.
