Scooting about Albi
If you are in Albi one evening this week you may come across hordes of children on scooters. The "Tour d'Albi en Trottinette" involves 5 stages around various parts of the city. This event was last held 50 years ago and this year each stage starts at 18h30 (6.30pm) and the race is held over 5 evenings.
The children represent the various sporting clubs and associations of the city and wear appropriate colours. The race 50 years ago was sponsored by local businesses but this time is non-commercial. The races are over a course of about 1700 metres and the winner of the first stage, Kevin, was proud to wear the yellow jersey on behalf of SC Albigeois - the local rugby club.
