Police in Toulouse were called to a bridge where a young man was threatening to jump to his death. When the policemen tried to persuade him to descend, he took flight and tried to throw himself under on-coming traffic. The agents decided to immobilise him with a Taser, then took him to a psychiatric unit in a local hospital. Police in Toulouse have used Tasers before, but this was the first time for benevolent reasons.
