Often around the villages in France in summer you see small colourful tents and boards around the village advertising the circus. With our small grand children and nephews we often go to these charming family run circus. You get Dad performing tricks, being the clown, the acrobat and compere. The Mum in gaudy outfit tends to hand out the popcorn and candy floss and the children of the family do gymnastics always raising smiles and getting lots of claps.
Quite different from a Circus which is at Castres at the moment with tigers and elephants.Now I hate seeing those animals who never look well cared for and your heart breaks to see proud animals of the African savanahs or the Indian hills reduced to such dire circumstances. As with bull fighting if I had the power I would ban these Circus acts.
