Armed man on railway line taken into custody

Passenger trains were halted at Agen when a man armed with a hunting rifle was spotted by the side of the line. Police attempted to negotiate his surrender and it took several hours persuasion by members of a specialist anti-terrorist group which made the man give up.
It appears that the person was not threatening the trains, but was trying to commit suicide. After giving himself up he was sectioned to a hospital in Bordeaux.
