Tired out just watching

FET continues to produce performers who entertain, amuse and amaze us with their versatility. Tonight (Sunday 9th July) was a performance of "Beowulf - the Blockbuster", written and performed by Brian Burroughs. A bare set changed only by lighting and assisted with minimal music was the stage for a tour de force of a mixture of modern dance and gymnastics used by Burroughs to tell a Norse legend in a modern setting. A dying father relates the story to his 9 year old son using modern superheroes and blockbuster films to illustrate the battles needed to be fought to overcome the tyrannies which confront us. Using a variety of voices (including a passable Sean Connery), immensely athletic and balletic movement, and perfect command of the script, the actor kept TAG's representative enthralled for well over an hour. This despite his neighbour snoring gently from beginning to end (not, we hasten to add, the editor herself).
Brian Burroughs received a well deserved standing ovation and we returned home exhausted just from watching, but immensely entertained. Keep up the good work FET.
