The orange line marks a skid in Aveyron |
The prolonged period of hot, dry weather means that road surfaces have become coated with a layer of rubber and exhaust particles. Given rain this can make the surfaces as slippery as ice in winter, causing more accidents.
Police and pompiers have been dealing with a spate of skids and collisions and warn motorists to be extra vigilent after a rain shower.
