Phew - medals at last

Not Team GB, but the French Olympic teams. Just as people were starting to bemoan a lack of success for the French competitors in their traditionally strong events such as judo and fencing, as well as swimming and cycling, along comes a day with 5 medals. The three-day event equitation riders won gold, and silver in the individual category; gold in the canoeing, silver for judo and a fencing bronze.
Both the French and GB teams will be hoping for more success over the next few days after what the French press has described as a "morose debut".
