Morose moisson

At a time of year when there are "fetes de moisson" everywhere, it seems that cereal farmers are facing a very poor harvest. Wheat yields are expected to low as a result of the poor weather in the spring and a wet June. Farmers are saying that the quality of the grain is so poor that it will be difficult to sell to traditional world markets.
Similar prospects are thought to affect the yields of other widely grown cereals and farmers are hoping for government support. The fetes will still be worth attending though.
