Is a masonry stove what the French call an insert, but enclosed in a decorative stone casing, installed at the same time?
If so, there's a firm just to this side of Montauban which built a rather fine one for friends of ours near Nègrepellisse.
I can get their details if I've understood right what's wanted. I recall it wasn't cheap, but of good quality.
