Housebuilding continues at Calais

Hi Val and Malc

Another sunny weekend in Calais... picture received today of one of last weekends building projects in "The Jungle". This structure is the Sudanese section of the camp. It was funded by Jersey Refugee Aid & is a raised structure to be used however and whenever needed - no doubt it will by now be inhabited.
We still need donations so please keep them coming, we will be back in Calais by November 3rd.
Items needed -
Mens shoes/trainers, mens coats, jumpers, trousers, jeans, hats, gloves, scarves, waterproofs, blankets, tin or solid plastic bowls, mugs, spoons, saucepans, cooking utensils, wind up led torches, lanterns, bicycles, old laptops/ mobile phones with chargers, finances for building supplies.
We are once again going to go it alone with a couple of friends & buy all our own materials from donations given for the shelter building - working through the charities is apparently proving time wasting & contentious & with winter on the way first frosts last night time is of the essence. (All diesel/living expenses we pay for from our own pockets)
Thank you to everyone for their generosity. Laura & Sid
Val says I have checked with Laura and they do now want cheques making to Laura Havard. To keep building they will need more money so please keep it coming and send to us
