On 19th October 1995 the burned body of Juge Bernard Borrel was found in the Djibouti desert. The former assistant prosecutor in Montauban was said to have committed suicide, a thesis his widow has consistently doubted. In 2011 French secret service sources admitted that they had always known that Borrel had been murdered. But Mme Borrel says she and her solicitors have been blocked both in France and Djibouti in their requests for papers to be declassified. Today the Toulouse magistrate will remember her husband and continue to ask for answers. It is hinted that Borrel "knew things" that would embarrass the French embassy in the horn of Africa country.
