An inspirational Frenchman Pierre Rabhi

Yesterday I made the acquaintance of Jean Philippe and we have become facebook friends. Yesterday he posted about a Frenchman called Pierre Rabhi someone I had never heard of. I thought  I must find out more about him as he sounded my sort of guy.
Today a French lady delivering bags of clothes and bedding asked me if I knew of him, quite out of the blue.
He has apparently been on Arte all week with his profound sayings, ten minutes every day.
One of his little stories was about a fire in the jungle which ravaged the area and all the big animals ran away and saved themselves.  A little bird, a colibri( I think it is a humming bird) took it upon itself to fill its beak with water and fly to the fire and drop it there, repeating time after time. The big jungle animals asked why he was bothering it would have so little effect. The bird replied "but I feel better for trying"
One can of course see the parallels with us all working away with the big animals ( governments) in the background.
We know why we are bothering, one family we help is one that survives and we can live with ourselves  knowing that we tried.
I have given you a link to Pierre Rhabi's site.
