I was very interesed to read Charles' comment re puppy rearing. I think that parents should try nipping their children when they misbehave. In fact, when I was a child, my mother would bite me on the leg, but I think that this was more a term of affection than punishment. Well that's what she thought, anyway; I was never fond of it.
I would like to add that my dog is well behaved, only she won't do any housework, or make her own bed.
