Thanks to many of you

We have been helping Jean Marie Nosal and his association Via Sahel Enfants d'Afrique raise funds to build a new school in a deprived part of Bamako in Mali.
A local woman setup a school in buildings made from corrugated iron and cardboard and was eventually teaching, without payment, hundreds of poor children every week. Jean Marie said Via Sahel would fund the building of the new school and over the past two years  has raised the 35000 euros needed, persuading an architect friend to come up with a modular design which can be used anywhere.
We have received some pictures of stage one, the demolition of the old school.
Jean Marie hopes the new school will be built during this summer's vacation and will try to make a visit there to check it out.

Thanks to all Taglines readers who have contributed so far. Work in Mali continues and if you want to help, remember the "Picnic in the Park" on 20th July at the Domaine de Sautou, with Dixieland Jazz from Toulouse musicians Martin's Jazz Band. These events have raised over 3000 euros towards the project
