Controle technique for motor bikes

There is no systematic testing of two-wheeled (or three) motorbikes, but the government intends to introduce a controle technique (MOT test) from 2017 for bike over 2 years old being sold. The fatality figures show that 22% of all road deaths involve motor bikes and 45% of serious injuries, with bikes only representing 2% of traffic.Yet faulty vehicles only account for 0.3% of such accidents.

Motards block the Paris perif

All the stats were bandied about by the association of riders, known as "Motards en Colere" who demonstrated in about 50 cities on Saturday. A spokesman argued that crash barriers on motorways were a greater threat to riders than defective vehicles.
