A bridge joins China to Tanus

The bridge over the Viaur at Tanus in the Tarn was designed and built by architect Paul Bodin at the end of the 19th century. The village, with 526 inhabitants was surprised to receive a request to twin with a town in China, with 150000 inhabitants, Pingbian. The link is that the architect also designed a viaduct in that town. A delegation arrived this week from China to begin the twinning process.
The Chinese team said the French would be welcome to visit their green region which is very suited to tourists, before sitting down to a meal of Segala veau.
