Orange alerts for the three Languedoc departments, Aude, Herault and Gard for storms, high winds and high tides leading to schools closed in anticipation and warnings not to take to the roads if possible. Further inland six more departments, including Tarn and Tarn and Garonne are predicted to have heavy rain. Our barometer has fallen sharply.
The warnings are in force for 48 hours.
