Jazz night: more important than ever

Many of you have booked for the soiree of Dixieland jazz on 20th July at the Domaine de Sautou, Castanet, near Parisot (82). We can still accommodate more for the picnic to support the fabulous work of Jean Marie and Winnie Nosal in aid of the children of Mali.
Jean Marie has recently made a trip to Bamako and tells us that the work on the school is going well, but that the shortage of food has meant the conditions in the sponsored orphanage are "catastrophic".
The director has been obliged to lay off staff and the little food is to be shared by more and more orphans abandoned by impoverished parents.
The threat of Islamic terrorism has led to a collapse in the tourist industry in Mali and there is no legal adoption abroad of the children. We can only raise as much money as we can to help in this precarious situation.
If you haven't booked, think about it: a great night out in a lovely setting, with super jazz and in a good cause. If you have booked, tell a friend and if you haven't yet paid, send a cheque to us: Val & Malcolm Johnstone, Mas del Sol, 82330 Varen, payable to Via Sahel, Enfants d'Afrique.
