Malc took one car, I the other, we loaded up with boys and drove to Laguepie, all with our swimming attire under our clothes.
We arrived and parked easily and went to the beach. It is really brilliant, a new water toy this year, toilets, the cafe has tables and chairs on the riverside and the couple were there serving crepes( at 2.50 euros the caramel crepe was yummy.)
We were all excited and Azat who often posts to my timeline stripped off his clothes, ran and did a fantastic jump into the river, I think we cheered and then started taking off our outer garments.Suddenly Hujat started yelling I think Azat is drowning in arabic!
... and sure enough Azat kept rising and disappearing.
His girlfriend jumped in and swam to the rescue but Azat was struggling in panic. Misbah arrived and together they held him up and a lady on the bank threw in an inflatable tyre. Azat clung on to this and was brought to shore.
I yelled but I thought you could swim!
He admitted he was fine in our pool playing volley ball as it was not too deep. He had not realised the river was DEEP.
There is a lifeguard who was ready to come but it was all OK in the end.
I had taken long poles we use in the pool for poor swimmers and a couple of the boys had these and stayed at the edges.
For us others we had a whale of a time, it is seriously brilliant
We then went for drinks and crepes, what a great afternoon.
I LOVE Laguepie, actually we now all love Laguepie...
perhaps Azat is more restrained about it!
