The Nicaraguan Circus is coming to town again, but this time
for a whole week, with three performances in the area. They came to Varen in
2015 and performed to an audience in the market hall and are back by public
acclaim. The troupe of three young men are from La Escuela de la Comedia y el
Mimo, based in Granada, Nicaragua. This time their show is called “Quincho
Barrilete”. It tells the stories
of Nicaraguan children from the streets, performed with mime, juggling and
other circus tricks. The show gets its title from a song very famous in
Nicaragua, composed by Carlos Mejía Godoy, one of the country’s foremost
musicians. It lasts one hour and will certainly appeal to both children and
adults.
Three
performances have been organised so far.
