The consultation of the people in the new region formed from the fusion of Midi Pyrenees and Languedoc Roussillon has seen the name Occitanie top the choices (there were 5 options), with 45% of the votes. The Regional Assembly will decide on 24th June whether to agree this appellation, but has said that in principle it will respect the democratic choice.
