Can we have our ball back?

Watching some football training (and a match on Saturday) we were struck by how often the ball vanished over the bar into neighbouring streets and gardens. But no doubt it can be annoying for the neighbours, so much so that a woman in Haute Garonne decided to take action. Armed with a chair and book she installed herself on the half way line at a match between her local club Juillan and Tarbes and refused to move. Despite the efforts of players, referee and club officials she did not budge - even switching on the automatic watering system brought no movement. Eventually the local gendarmes intervened; the club choosing not to lodge a complaint  the police decided to investigate for themselves. A visit to the woman's home revealed 186 footballs, estimated to be worth 4000€ but the club will take no action. The match will be replayed, but perhaps a higher perimeter fence is needed.
