One of France's most famous and iconic clubs has been put up for sale by its Russian majority shareholder. Margarita Louis-Dreyfus inherited her share of Olympique de Marseille when her husband died in 2009 and those close to her say she has wanted to sell but no decent offers have been received.
OM have not been able to compete at the highest level, set by PSG in France, and the Velodrome's fanatic supporters have become frustrated so MLD (as she is popularly known) has decided to take the best offer for the club's future, rather than just the best price.
