Small animal news

Anke Terbruggen has produced again, 8 little corkers, well done Anke! Or I should say Anke's pig, keep Alice Smee away at the moment else she will be down on the farm spotting the cutest to eat.
Our kestrels must have something in the nest but we think they must be a young pair not over sure how it is all meant to go. They seem to spend more time feeding each other and I cannot imagine we will have the normal brood of 6 fledglings. Any photographers wanting to book in for photo shoots just send a mail to say when you are coming. Next week or the week after will probably be best.
The redstart family, in French  called  " queue rouge" who have raised one brood successfully are off again with a second. They have a nest in the open grange which has also been used year after  year and as we sit below reading ( or digging drains ) they fly in and out from time to time giving alarm calls. I did say to Malc, " why could they not just enjoy the summer and relax a bit after the frantic raising of young they have just been through."
