Why do all our animals leave at speed?

"After last nights episode with the donkeys I was fearful of another escape as through the night there was a lot of braying. Knowing the signs it means one donkey has got out. Up early this morning to discover an empty field and a French neighbour ringing to say he had just seen the girls going off down the hill at speed.
I have just got back from a rigorous walk over field and dale with out seeing a sign of them. Malc has driven round the neighbours to alert them of donkeys on the loose. The French farmer over the hill from us  said,  " you have always lost something"  It used to be the dogs till we were well fenced.
When the donkeys have escaped before they have stayed in the surrounding fields, this is their first real adventure. Let us hope it is their last and it ends safely. I will keep you posted and will be out again  looking when I get showered and dressed. This mornings trek was in my pyjamas!"
Can you remember this post? In the middle I say we used to lose the dogs, well can I alter that to '' we lose the dogs if Twister is not on the lead'' as yesterday our old black labrador Twister who has to be coaxed in to going for a walk, got together with that ''ever up for it'' girl Bonny ran off down the hill, once again at speed. That is why here I am at 5 am sitting writing TAG. Impossible to sleep when dogs are on the loose and getting in to heavens knows what dangers. Dogs that are not car and road ''savvy'' as at Mas del Sol they know the odd tractor more than cars.Years ago on one of their let's call them "adventures" for want of a better word, we received a phone call from some very kind Dutch people who had gone shopping to Laguepie. In between Varen and Laguepie they saw two dogs on the road. The black dog was asleep with the white dog sitting next to him, cars were swerving all around. They did their shopping and on their way back the dogs were in the same position and they were compelled to stop and call the dogs over to them for safety. The dogs as well as being chipped have our telephone numbers on their collars so they phoned with their mobile, got our address and brought the dogs home.
Come first light Malc will be off in the car cruising around the area searching for them and I will be manning the phone in the hopes someone will find them and telephone. Please cross your fingers and hope we find them before they get into too much  trouble
