New president for Tarn

Christophe Ramond
Thierry Carcenet has been President of the Tarn departmental council since 1991, but with new rules on "cumulation de mandats" making him choose between his role as Senator and departmental president, he decided to keep his national position.
He is succeeded by 43 year old Christophe Ramond, socialist vice president in charge of budget matters who was elected by 28 votes to 18.
Carcenet has been a controversial figure in recent years mainly due to his support for the Sivens dam.
