Emergency prolonged

The new Prime Minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, announced that the state of emergency installed after the Paris attacks has been prolonged for the fifth time.
He said that since the beginning of the year some 17 attacks have been averted using the security measures put in place. Most of these attacks planned by terrorist groups (or individuals) were avoided by use of intelligence and surveillance such as telephone monitoring. Around 2000 people are thought to be involved in jihadist groups in France.
