Things did come out of the meeting with the Maire in Varen

An idea was mooted to help the English to speak French by having meetings over coffee with English and French groups in the village. I have to say it is generally the ladies amongst us who "coffee." But for example if we in each village promoted a morning once a month to go to the local coffee shop inviting villagers to come and talk with us, it could really start something off.
The key would be to select French ladies in the village who were receptive to pass the word around and then get it put in the Mayors bulletin to say for example "the second Monday  morning in the month people of the village can meet, mix  and chat at the bar "
Do you know I think that such a good idea, and then all levels of speakers could come and listen and practise and make friends. If I  start this in Varen, who will start it in Verfeil, St. Antonin, Puylaroque, Cordes, Parisot etc, etc.
If a few of us started it together in different villages we could compare notes as it progressed.
