Having given your suggestions consideration, I've decided to just vent steam. The thought of depriving you and Malcolm of your chains and locks at this time of the year didn't seem too festive.

Val says you did overlook being trampled by donkeys hooves, but my donkeys would step genteely around you so maybe that is not an option either. You are right , vent steam.
