Any ideas? he also likes St. Antonin

Hi Val and Malcolm,

How are you?

My father’s staying with us in Lisle-sur-Tarn. He’s not sure right now if its indefinitely or not (its not been the same for him living in the UK since my Mom died a few years ago). Anyway he wants to join local activity groups – he enjoys walking, eager to learn French, maybe art – things with people who are enjoying themselves, not taking life too seriously. Do any of your readers know where I can start to get things moving for him? Preferably around the Gaillac area…

Also he needs to find somewhere to stay (one room with kitchenette and bathroom) from 18thJune until 26th June. He’s interested in Gaillac or Corde-sur-Ciel. Again I’m looking for ideas or anyone who can help.

Many thanks once again,

Irena

Hi  Irena,

For walking he should join Gaillac Rando. They are a lovely bunch of people and walk four times a week, anything from 5km to 25 km and have outings and weekends away as well.

AVF (Acceuil Ville Francaise)  in Gaillac do art classes among lots of other things. Again, really nice people

Also there is a small gite in the village here (Cahuzac-sur-Vere), ideal for one person and not expensive. I could find out if it is available for those dates. Let me know on 0563349401.

Take care

Helene

Val Johnstone - you've done it again! Resolved a problem - and a big thank you to Helene Barratt who has sorted out accommodation for him and a possible walking group, and maybe even some French :-)
