After the winter they shed their warm winters coats to keep them cooler in summer. Brushing at this time of year is a dirty job as the hair has layers of dust and mud gathered up by rolling over the winter and making an extra warm layer.
There are usually plenty of takers though for brushing and cuddling a donkey.
I noted Alaaldeine stayed safely on the opposite side of the fence!
