But Julia Roberts, in her first visit to the festival, flouted the strict dress code rules by climbing the famous 27 step red carpet without her shoes! Amid all the polemic about the necessity to wear high heels when being photographed at Cannes events, the Hollywood star made her point by carrying her shoes. No officious jobsworth stopped her and the organisers made no comment.
Just try that at Henley, Miss Roberts!
