Lovely sunny morning

The sun did rise at 6. 10 am but to be fair to the donkeys they did not bray till 7.30 a much more civilised time. No mist in the valley, just a beautiful morning and the extra pleasure for me out in the fields was our kestrel whizzing backwards and forwards over my head. The pair are definitely nesting, it feels like the family coming for their two weeks holiday having them back.
We also have two little eyes in a nesting box in the courtyard, it is a redstart sitting on eggs. Probably the same one who lost her chicks a few weeks ago when they fell out of the nest in the grange. The box she has chosen is more for  decoration and I always felt although pretty it was not a suitable nesting area, well the redstart has proved me wrong.
The donkeys were well behaved this morning, not fighting over buckets, " after you Claude, no after you Cecil" they seemed to be saying. Gosh! where did that expression come from. Malc thinks it must be an old music hall saying.
Anyway a lovely day, one for us all to enjoy, especially Kevin Scragg on his Saint's day.
Catchphrases  After you Claude, no after you Cecil was from a 1940's radio show called " Moving men" spoken by Jack Train and Horace Percival.  This phrase was taken up by RAF pilots as they queued for attack
