Magnificent trophies and cups for the Regatta

As we wandered around the brocante at Laguepie this morning everyone had srtict instructions to find trophies of style for the Regatta. This year we have surpassed ourselves and even I feel like abandonning my on shore duties to try to win the major prize. Normally trophies are ''naff'', not this years I can assure you. Mix style with a touch of art deco, add a squirrel [ not sure why] and you have the 10th years Regatta trophy to sail for, the best yet. The new addition to sail for ''the old Nick trophy'' as a tribute to Nick Lyne's service as Deputy Commodore for 9 years, it  is a bit on the tarnished side but may polish up. The childrens trophy sparkles and two of our younger lads have got their eye on winning it[ I have told them the competiton is fierce] and it is the taking part that is important.
A report from Fifi President Linda says
I have a magnificent naf FiFi cup donated by Ruve which she found in a
vide grenier for all of €2!.
So of course Fifi ladies will be racing for the Fifi challenge cup as well as all the other trophies.
The Regatta is Wed. 21st of August and we await a report from our Commodore with the Varenly Regatta rules
