We all know that when a youngster loses a tooth in England it is popped under the pillow at night and a tooth fairy comes and takes it away and leaves, whatever the going rate is. In France, and it is best to know this or you could end up in a maze of deception, it is not a fairy but a little mouse that comes, ''petite souris''.
Last year our granddaughter lost a tooth and received a note from Fleur the tooth fairy. Only later was it discovered it should have been a mouse and to make matters worse Fleur had sent a letter... in English. Now both the grandchildren know it is a ''petite souris'' having been told by our cleaner, there is a lot of wiggling around the information about ''Fleur the tooth Fairy''. so be careful you do not fall in to this abyss and remember, a little mouse comes for that tooth... and still pays the going rate.
