The chasse has started and how do I know, the barks and yelps of excited hunting dogs in the woods behind the house tell me so.
Bonny is keen to join them, so should be kept on the lead, but more often than not she slips out and races around the back fields barking at the pack. The hunters stand all along the road and hedges as Malc and I pass walking the dogs. We are well known to the men with guns, and cross our fingers we are not in their sights!
The chasse for sanglier can begin I think on the 14th of Aug. and in midi pyrenees for deer, the 2nd of Sept.
