There is no shortage of advice on diets, on getting the best value for your money or on reducing pollution. Now WWF France has produced a guide to its members which combines all of those.
Starting from a typical weekly shopping basket for a family of four, costing 190 euros, WWF recommends reducing meat and fish from four meals a week and cutting out "transformed" dishes. Increasing cereals and vegetables could reduce the bill by 21% and its carbon footprint by 38%.
If some of the money saved was invested in buying organic goods the quality of what we eat would further improve the environment and the diet proposed by the ONG is guaranteed to be a balanced intake, with health benefits.
