Malc was out at Caylus playing bridge, I had walked the dogs when they decided I was not much fun and the sounds of the chasse in the valley sounded much more like it, so off they ran.
I went to sit and read my book in the grange whilst waiting for them to return when Nipolena (outside cat) brought me a present of a snake. Fortunately the snake was still very much alive and looked relatively unscathed. Till I could distracted the cat I put a coal scuttle over the snake to keep it safe.
Fed the cat and tried to get the snake on a garden spade, all to no avail. The smart creature went snaking off behind the fridge and then into the garden, so hopefully will live to tell the tale.
Bonny and Eldo still have not returned.
