The sun is out, the sky is blue and it is not raining ( even in my heart)
Yesterday Eldo had the snip. What a traumatic day. He, as a puppy and small dog was badly treated, beaten, had items thrown at him, kicked. He was eventually rescued by the gendarmes... shows how bad his treatment must have been, the gendarmes do not concern themselves with dog abuse unless they really have to.
We have worked hard to socialise him and he is the sweetest dog but very afraid of everything, including his own shadow. I have put off having him castrated knowing how traumatic it would be for him. The vet had to put a muzzle on him to inject him as he was shaking and growling so much he may have attacked. When we went to get him the vets wife and aid said he had been very aggressive with her. I got him out of the cage and whenever anyone approached he growled fiercely. I ended up taking the canula out of his leg and putting a bandage on as he just sat quietly for me. Now home he will not leave my side and slept on the floor next to our bed.
He is a gentle dog and I get so cross to know how deeply damaged this poor dog has been by his earlier treatment. He has a visit to the vet to be checked in 5 days and again to have his stitches out, not looking forward to those visits.
