Today and tomorrow (20th and 21st March) mark the passage of the sun to our hemisphere and longer days. The French meteo recognise the date as the official beginning of printemps and last night we were invited to a party to mark the coming of spring.
This week also sees the start of the Easter traditions, not just chocolate, and it is interesting to note that Friday, known to us as Good Friday, is not a holiday in France. Next Saturday/Sunday night also sees the changing of our clocks by one hour - spring forward.
We were also informed that March 21st is the Kurdish New Year, and year 2716 will start tomorrow, so happy new year to all our Kurdish readers (and any one else celebrating the Persian new year).
