Aeroplanes not built for our streets

Transporting aeroplanes by road seems an odd thing at any time, but trying to get an Airbus 320 through the streets of Auch and surrounding villages caused a headache to local police.
There is a stockage and dismantling site near the airport of Tarbes and the (presumably) no longer serviceable 'plane was being taken there on a specially designed low-loader. Police had to remove road signs and lamp posts to enable the cargo to pass through the narrow streets of the towns en route. There were blockages on Monday and Tuesday from 10.30 am until 4pm before the 'plane landed at its destination.
