This is a baby western whip snake. I found one in my pool a couple of years ago. Google it - lots of fascinating info and pictures.Jill
Val says thanks Jill, we also have had a few about and recognized it as a western whip. Worth googling or even putting into the search on TAG, we have earlier reports and pictures.
