In France it is 15, in England 16 and in Germany 14
In England the number of young girls getting pregnant at 15 is double that of France. In a survey a third of children admitted to having had sex at 15. The theory that if it is legal for young girls to have sex they will be able to seek contraception without worry and pregnancies will fall. It seems like a fair argument to me to lower the age.
